So it's that time again to celebrate our freedom, our freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This weekend was a very special one for our family and especially for me. We started the weekend off right cleaning up the yard for a family BBQ... We swept up the yard...
If you can't tell the kids just loved all the sweeping, better that then the weeding and baking Lynn and I were doing. We had fun doing our fireworks Saturday night. It's always fun to help dad light the fireworks. We even had a full driveway this year watching our great display of fireworks (yes, you can hear a hint of sarcasm in my writing). We had Grandpa and Grandma Squire, Lynn's aunt and uncle from AZ. here for D'ann's wedding and his aunt Marie. Then it was off to bed early because Sunday was going to be a big day. A big day it was, we started it off right we went to our niece and nephews blessing. It was so beautiful and their dad Brandon gave them both beautiful blessings. The closing song was the Star Spangle Banner, boy this time singing it on the 4th of July I just could not help getting a little teary eyed. To think because of our founding fathers and their willingness to sacrifice and fight for their freedom, and the number one reason was freedom of religion. It hit me, I'm here in church knowing the true gospel here on earth, I know my Savior and what he did for me because of our founding father's faith in freedom. It was just a special sacrament meeting for me. Then after the special gathering of the family afterwards to celebrate the blessing off we all went to rest awhile. About 2:00 we all gathered again for the setting apart of Lynn as a high councilor. It was really just Lynn's parents and sister's, we also had his two aunts and uncle join us. President Child talked to us for a little bit and started it off with talking about my dad. Now before I start crying again I will just say I love my dad so much, and I am missing him a lot!!! But he told Lynn how pleased my parents are with my choice in a husband, and how he talked to my dad about Lynn before they left on their mission. He said he told my dad the Lord has something in mind for Lynn we just don't know what it is yet. Well, after this past year I wouldn't mind knowing right now. Anyway it was a beautiful setting apart and the spirit was strong. Afterwards we had our 4th of July BBQ, and it was so fun and the weather was great, the food was great, the people where great. Just a over all great and spiritual day, one for the books!
Then to top the long weekend off we had a sleep over with cousins and a Lemonade stand!!!

I'm so glad we got to share so much of this special weekend with you! I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for us over the past few days (and years...). I got teary-eyed during the Star Spangled Banner too! I thought I was the only one and was a little annoyed at myself for being so emotional.
Great lemonade stand picture. Makes me smile. Thanks again!
