Elf time...

So I thought I would write a quick little note. On Saturday night I was laying in bed listening to Jake and Ben talk in bed. As I was listening I was informed that, Jacob Rushton Squire elf #1, and Benjamin Jordan Squire elf #2 was living in my house. They added that they are the bests warping paper gifts elf's in the world and that they are going to be the fastest going to sleepers in the world so Santa will keep them on the nice list!! It's fun having so much excitement in the house...

Jacob's Baptism

Ok before I get started I have to apologize for being such a cry baby. Jacob getting baptized was a very emotional thing for me and for some reason all that emotion came at the baptism so I feel like a fool for crying all night. With that out of the way, I would like to tell you all about my special little boys' big day! When Jake was born Lynn and I just knew something was different about him and as he got bigger we found out how different and special Jake was. This little boy lives with so many ups and downs in his little life but always has a smile on his face. It doesn't matter who you are or how you may look Jake is going to stop to say hi to you to talk to you and put a smile on your face. At first I was very embarrassed when he would start talking to just strangers in the store in their cars on the street. Some of these people I thought looked like they could hurt me, but Jake put a smile on their face and turned their bad mood into happy. Now I know when he starts to talk to someone it's because he needs to touch their lives and he does. Sometimes I don't feel worthy to be his mom and I know the Lord sent him here more for my learning than for his. Last night Jacob was baptized, he forgot to plug his nose but he was ok which is a funny thing because I had a dream he would forget to plug his nose and made Lynn practise all day with Jake. Here is Jacob and his dad ready to get baptised... Lynn gave Jacob a beautiful blessing and conformation, and told him he was sent here to help people feel loved, and that he has a wonderful talent that his Heavenly Father wants him to share.

This is Jacob's baptism book he loves this book and looked at it all day...

This is Jacob in his new suit for his baptism... Such a handsome little man!!

Here we all are on this very special day...

Here are the cookies Meg made all by herself for Jacob's family get together after his baptism. All her aunt Cami did was supervise...
So other than me being a total basket case and breaking down into tears every time someone talked to me it was a great day. Jacob is happy to be 8 and very happy to be baptised!!! He woke up this morning and told me he is much more mature now!

What's up Squire???

So I'm sure all three of you that read my blog are wondering, "what's up with the Squire's?" If you haven't been thinking that you get to find out anyway, November is always a busy month for our little family. Here are just some of the things we have been up to...
Talking to grandma and grandpa Light weekly on skype...
Putting up the Christmas tree...
Travis is tall enough to decorate the top of the tree this year. I just sat back and took picture's...

They did a great job, don't you think?

We had strep and we all are still trying to get over a bad cold... Ben's mask they gave him at the doctor's office, They told him he had to wear it why he was there. He wouldn't let us take it off for a day when he finally got sick of wearing it.
The little boys had
a little fun dressing up in their big brothers clothes they were getting rid of.

We had Travis' 14 birthday... (yes this is what it is like living with him)

We had Jake's 8 birthday, all he wanted was a zu zu pet, he loves it, the rest of us want to break it!!
He got a great remote control car. Instead of me getting up at 3:00 am on black Friday for Christmas shopping I got up for a birthday present. Thanks Sheri for a great idea, I got it for $7 bucks which in the next picture I'm thankful that is all I spent on it.

First day is got it he ran it into the chair and the top came off, I guess for a cheap toy I shouldn't be upset. Anyway he fixed it only in a way Jake can TAPE. It still works just fine!! (cheap toy)

Of course a birthday isn't a birthday without cake... I had just fixed Thanksgiving dinner for the Squire Family I just didn't want to bake a cake. He liked it anyway!
We took the kids on the North Pole express. Would you believe that 2 days after spending the money on the tickets, we found out that Josh had a special invite to go to Sweden next year to the world wide scout jamboree. We had to have a deposit put on it by the 1st of December, in the exact amount as we spent on the North Pole express. There is only 30-36 people picked to go from Utah, it was a great honor for him to be picked.

Travis enjoying his hot chocolate, it was a warm 2 degree's when we went...

Josh, Meg, and Jake getting ready to sing Christmas carols...

Ben being shy, ya right like Ben has ever been shy!!

Santa boring our train car... We made it to the North Pole!!

The train car we went to the North Pole in...
Next blog all about Jake's baptism our house is getting very excited for this special little boys big day!!

My Boys...

This weekend Travis turned 14, I can't believe how big my baby boys are getting. I thought it was crazy to have two deacon's, now I have two teacher's. I love my boys, they are really great young men. They have blessed our home with their beautiful spirits and they teach me more than I teach them some days. So to mark mom's sappy day, on Travis' birthday we took some picture's to mark our love and growth in every way with each other! Josh 15, mom age unknown, Travis 14...

Reality check for me...

Me wishing I was still taller than Travis, just one more sign of my family growing up...
(I stood on the top of the hill)

Putting up the Christmas Lights...

This past weekend was such nice weather we thought ok lets put up the Christmas lights. So up to the roof Lynn went. Well you know that ladder is very tempting to a 7 and 4 year old boy. So up the ladder they went, one step at a time. After telling them no get off for the next hour they made it, slowly and sneaky. So what can a mother do? Take pictures of course...

So we start one step at a time...
Then we climb up a little more... (at this point they stopped listening to me)
We almost made it to bad mom made us stop...

I think if I didn't yell at them they would have been on the roof helping dad, mom what a spoiler of all fun!!!

I'm half way there...

So today I made it to my half way point with my Christmas shopping! I am getting happier and happier by the moment. Just thinking about being done is a great thing. With two birthdays and a baptism to plan, plus this year I am making my own Thanksgiving dinner all within the next month the thought of having my Christmas shopping done is great. Now I can just enjoy my holiday season, and putting up the Christmas tree I promised my little guys I would put up (don't let them know, but I really enjoy that part of the holiday).

Funny Story...

So here we are another Halloween come and gone, and now it's time for the Holidays. One trick or treat story to tell. Ben my four year old was really into trick or treating the year, to bad it down poured on him. Well when the rain did stop Ben started, started what you say? Negotiating for the candy he wanted. He would talk to the people when they answered the door, he would start with, "Here's the deal, I don't like this candy so if I give this back to you I will take these instead because I like these candies". Lynn was the one taking them around because well let's face it I wasn't going out in the rain. Ben got so chatty he would spend five minutes at each door visiting with the neighbors, the rest of the kids got tried and they ended up not going to all the neighborhood but coming home. Don't worry Ben got plenty of the candy he wanted!! Yesterday at church I had so many people come up laughing, they couldn't believe a little four year old could negotiate so well. They loved it!!!

Pumpkin Craving...

It's that time of year again when our family has it's annual pumpkin craving night. Every year we crave our pumpkins the night before Halloween. We eat and then we spend the rest of the night together craving. In our family it's not about how fancy you can make them, it's about doing whatever you what with your own pumpkin. They get to draw on their own faces or whatever. It's just about having fun! OK we were lucky to get Ben to put his hand in the pumpkin this far...
Do I really have to touch it??? He really didn't think he would have to get his hands dirty!
Jake cleaning his pumpkin out...

The face Jake put on his pumpkin, the candles will show up very well...

Meg cleaning out her pumpkin...

Meg on her first year doing her pumpkin ALL by herself...

She did a great job...

Christmas Already???

So this morning about 6:00 am my two little guys, Ben and Jake came into our room. Lynn and I where still trying to sleep, and we heard the door open and the boys running in with great excitement in their voices, "mommy, daddy, it's Christmas time, it's Christmas time. Can we put the Christmas tree up?" Yes, we got the first snow of the season and they where ready for Christmas. Give me sometime guys, I need to make it through my Halloween party first, and then Thanksgiving dinner!! I promised them one month from today the Christmas tree will be up...

The Red Movie...

THE RED MOVIE

This is one of those moments in life as a mom you never want to forget! Last Friday afternoon as my three younger children and I where chasing around, I told them that dad has rented "How To Train Your Dragon" from red box. Jake got so excited he started to cry. I looked to the back seat and saw him trying to take deep breathes and claim himself down. It was so cute, he just kept saying over and over, "you guys we have the best dad ever". A little later when we where at the store picking some things up for dinner he was telling every one he saw, "my dad got the red movie "How To Train Your Dragon". Then when we got home he just stood and looked out the front door for his "best dad ever" to get home from work with the red movie. This was truly a great moment in life!!!

Update on the last half of September...

OK I know in my post earlier this month I said I was sick and just could not get to feeling better, well funny story. A few nights before my parents got here I was running around cleaning the house getting the shopping done, trying to get all the projects in their home finished are ready for them to come home. I was feeling really sick all week and was not doing a very good job at getting things done. Which for everyone that knows me knows that this is not like me at all. I have been feeling sick for a month and it just wasn't going away, I was tried of it, and Lynn and the kids where tired of it. I came home on the Thursday before my parents where going to be here. My sister Pam was getting the BBQ turkey ready for their homecoming, and I walked in the kitchen and laid on the floor. I was ready to pass out, she said, "are you ok". I said "no I have been so sick and I just can't get over it". She asked, "what is wrong". I said "I have heart burn but not like reflex and whenever I eat it hurts so bad, so I have stopped eating, I just eat bread and crackers. But that's not what I hate the most it's my back it hurts so bad and it will not go away". She started laughing and said, "Vicki it's your gallbladder, I bet it's so bad it needs to come out". For weeks I have been so sick and didn't want to go to the doctor, for once I listened and went the next day. It's was my gallbladder, and after a week of tests we found out it's was working at 25%. At 37% they take it out, I let it go way to long. Well after passing out a few times and throwing up a few times, last Tuesday I got it out. It was no fun and I hope I never have to have surgery again. I still can't eat much and what I do eat has to be very low fat. The one really good thing about all this is I have lost almost 17 pounds. To bad I know they will probably find me this holiday season. Well back to my parents homecoming, they where here for just two weeks before they return to their mission. I spent the two fun weeks of seeing my parents after 18 months sick and having surgery and in bed!! Now they are off for the next 15 months, with one short visit at the end of December. I wasn't really thinking great but I did get some pic's at their homecoming... My sister in law Marilyn, Dad, Mom, and my sister in law Kathy...

Kathy and my sister Christy...

One of my niece Cherame, her husband Brian, their baby and my sister Pam. (YES Pam your right!!)

All the boy's including my brother Phil and my brother in law Craig playing a war game for the next 6 HOURS, yes that's right one game went 6 HOURS!! But we had a very fun day visiting and just being able to be with mom, dad, (grandpa, grandma) and all the family.
Well that is about it the last week I have been mostly in bed and resting, but the pain is about gone and I do feel like myself once again. Thank you to all of you that have helped me and my family this past two weeks. It's been a great blessing to have such a great family and friends!!

Picture's that should have been with my last post!!!

So these picture's should have been with my last post, but if you recall I was feeling sick and didn't want to down load them. My next post tell that story, believe me it's one worth reading! Ben on his 4th birthday...

All he wanted was a remote control car... (well he got a remote control jeep instead, he loves it)

For week s Ben told me he wanted a ice cream cake with 10 blue candles, 10 you ask, I know he is only four. But to Ben he could count 10 fingers, in the end we talked him into 4 blue candles!

Hard to eat a frozen cake, but I just didn't feel up to making an ice cake...

HE LIKES IT!!!

The next few pic's are of Travis' Eagle project, he painted cross walks for the Armory.

I think they turned out great...

The Squire's contribution to the project. (I had to put this in, I thought it was so funny, great minds think alike.)

Meg and McKenna helping out...

He did and great job and had a great turn out...

P.S Travis' Eagle will continue in December, that is when we can turn his papers in

Travis at his last Court of Honor, he got his Life. His next one will be his Eagle court of honor.

Travis I love you, you work so hard to do the right thing. I'm so proud of you and I'm so thankful the Lord has sent you to me, and that he trust me to raise one of his most chose son's.
